About
Once upon a time…
I used to have no idea what the heck was going on in my body. Yes, I’d been an athlete all my life (soccer) and kept up with fitness in my adulthood, but it wasn’t until the birth of my first son that I realized how very little I really knew.
I consider that birth to be a baptism by fire. Or by cesarean.
In any event, that experience - plus motherhood in general - sent me on a deep path of exploration and healing.
I started studying (and certified in and became staff for) Nutritious Movement®.
I took seminars in Restorative Breathing®.
I began working with a somatic psychotherapist.
I encountered trauma-senstive yoga.
I changed to (mostly) furniture-free living.
I started hiking barefoot.
I experienced neurogenic tremors.
I took up dancing in my living room.
I immersed myself in writing from my heart.
I found Life. And I found it in my body.
I have taken all I have studied and experienced and offer it here to you so that wherever your current struggle resides – pain, physical limitations, your life’s journey – you can transform it in order to live and move with freedom and power. So you can be yourself. (We need you to be you, btw.)
I am fully trained as a Nutritious Movement® Restorative Exercise Specialist and am also a certified life coach (for nearly 20 years!).
Just as importantly, I have been there. I’ve been in the trenches of recovering my power. I’ve been in the trenches of working through physical pain. I’ve been in the trenches of eliminating daily melancholy. I’ve been in the trenches of separating from systems that do not serve me. I’ve been in the trenches of recovering from trauma.
Over and over again, I’ve shown up to my life, first to heal and then to thrive. I’ve had amazing teachers and guides, including studying with Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estés.
And I’ve changed.
I am way healthier in every way.
I am stronger and more mobile.
I have a steady current of joy that runs through me.
I have access to a deep creativity and a sense of purpose.
I also uprooted my life (a few times) to move across the country from Philadelphia to New Mexico (and later to Hawaii and then Colorado) and gave birth to a second child on my very own (floor) bed.
What we will do together is unique. It’s not yoga, it’s not pilates, it’s not psychotherapy.
I explore consciousness at the inflection point where inner work and the body meet.
My approach and process assume the integration of inner and outer movement – a blend of physical, spiritual and emotional practices that must live in dialogue with one another such that you can hold the questions, explore the movements and allow for something magical to happen.
